Rabbit Proof - 5th Annual Collaboration With The Sydney Gallery School

4 - 15 October, 2011

For the 5th year, Hardware Gallery and the Sydney Gallery School unite for an exhibition of printmedia works and paintings. The brief is simple: Each year, Teacher Rew Hanks selects a theme for 2nd and 3rd year print majors to work under and Hardware Gallery curators select artists working in all mediums to participate using the same theme. In celebration of the year of the rabbit, the theme chosen is Rabbit Proof. The exhibition will feature over 40 works in a variety of printmedia, each editioned to just 5. Alongside these will be a series of works in painting and multimedia.

The Sydney Gallery School - formally known as the Fine Arts Department at Meadowbank College, TAFE NSW - Northern Sydney Institute, was established in 1966. It is now an extensive facility offering well equipped studio and workshop areas for specialist studies in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photomedia, Computer Imaging and other related Theoretical and Professional Art Practice Studies. The Sydney Gallery School has developed an enviable reputation in providing an excellent Fine Arts program with an equal emphasis on the development of technical, aesthetic and conceptual skills.
